If you’ve ever typed “dentist that comes to my house in Virginia” into a search bar, you’re not alone — and you’re asking exactly the right question. The idea of a dentist making house calls might sound old-fashioned or too good to be true. But in 2026, mobile dentistry is a fully licensed, fully equipped, and rapidly growing field — and Waypoint Mobile Dentistry is bringing it to homes and care facilities across Northern Virginia.

Yes.

A licensed dentist can legally and fully treat you in your Virginia home. The Virginia Board of Dentistry regulates dental licensure and practice in the state, and there is no restriction on a licensed dentist providing care in a patient’s home or at an off-site location. Mobile dental practices must comply with the same infection control, sterilization, and scope-of-practice standards as traditional offices — and at Waypoint, we do.

Our Virginia Patients

Who Typically Uses House-Call Dentistry in Virginia?

Our Virginia patients range widely in age and circumstance, but many fall into a few common categories.

Seniors & Elderly Adults

Patients who no longer drive or find transportation difficult. The American Dental Association links poor oral health to heart disease, diabetes, and dementia risk — making regular care critical at every age.

Patients with Disabilities or Chronic Illness

Those who find traditional dental offices physically or logistically inaccessible — mobile dentistry removes every barrier between them and the care they need.

Assisted Living & Group Home Residents

Residents of assisted living facilities and group homes in Northern Virginia who need regular dental care but lack reliable transportation. Waypoint has facility partnership options available.

Busy Professionals & Parents

Those who simply want the convenience of not disrupting their day for a dental appointment — dental care that fits around board meetings, school runs, and everything in between.

“For one of my patients in Fairfax — a retired teacher with advanced Parkinson’s — our house visits were the first dental care she’d received in four years. She’d given up on ever getting back to a dental office. Mobile dentistry gave her a route back to care.”
